Howard's
Testimony
Despite
being a member of a church of another denomination in my youth I did not have a
true conversion experience until I was 20 and this totally changed my life. This
was in HM Forces through the ministry of SASRA. On my return home, I joined the
local Baptist church and am so thankful for the breadth of Christian experience
and teaching I received there. This was further broadened through working in
various leadership roles both within the church and the Christian Endeavour
Movement and again, on moving to my present church.
On
various occasions in my twenties I led worship and preached but had to give this
up to take professional examinations and later business pressures prevented me
pursuing this.
Following
my early retirement I began to preach again and found the Baptist Union Lay
Preachers Course very helpful. Subsequent events have confirmed the call to
preaching to be right.
