Sylvia's Testimony

I became a born again Christian and was baptised in the sea off Brandon at the age of 12 years. I came to England in 1961 where I studied nursing in psychiatry and became a trained nurse. During this time I lost faith in the church but not in God. I still attended church and when I came to Cannon Street Memorial Baptist Church I read the motto of the Church which says: "Within the walls of this sanctuary let no one be a stranger". I felt welcomed and so I stayed, was received in membership and became an active member in the Sunday School. I am now the Sunday School Deacon, and I am also the leader of a cell group, and visit the sick.

I am thankful that Rev Keith Murray, who encouraged and nurtured the 'Paving the Way' group, sent us out to preach & told us to join BDBPA.

Sylvia's Qualifications

Over 10 years preaching experience in my home church, other Baptist churches, Pentecostal churches and others.

1990-93 Ebenezer Bible School, Lozells: 

Certificates: Theology, Christian Education, Evangelism, basic music. 

Correspondence course: Biblical Science, Archaeology & Prophecy. 

Classes led by Rev Keith Murray (Saltley).
